Daughter's Hair Has Friend in Knots

|
A friend is dealing with a hairy situation. Her two and a half month old daughter twists her hair when falling asleep. Each morning, it takes my friend fifteen minutes to comb out the tangles in her daughter's hair. With another baby on the way, this is not time she has to spare during her morning routine. How can she stop her daughter from working her hair into knots? Advice needed.

Three things I thought of, but have no idea if they will work:
1. Tear-free detangling spray in the morning (This may speed up the combing process in the morning, but won't break the habit)
2. Wearing a stocking cap at night (although she may just remove it to get to her hair)
3. Let her sleep with a dolly that has realistic hair and encourage her to twirl its hair instead. (My brother used to twirl his hair into knots as a toddler, and when my mom shaved it too short to twirl, he would twirl the hair of the nearest adult instead...hehe)
Hopefully some combination of these tricks will save your friend some time!

If she hasn't already, she might want to try this one: Suave Kids Detangling Spray
